What a year the past four weeks have been, am I right? Out of the blue, we all have had to put our lives on hold due to COVID-19. Some of us have been able to easily transition to a work-from-home lifestyle, while others have lost their only source of income for the time being. Regardless of your situation, we’re all on the struggle train right now, and it’s not fun.
If you’re tired of Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, watching the news, wasting your day on Tik Tok (🙋♀️), cooking elaborate meals for one, watching Netflix, and just lazing around because you can’t go outside, we have some exciting news…
April 7th is National Beer Day! Yes, now you have an excuse to drink on a Tuesday. Woot! Beer is actually one of the oldest alcoholic beverages, so it definitely deserves to be celebrated. So why April 7th? According to National Today:
National Beer Day celebrates the day in 1933 that the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed into law, reversing the prohibition on selling beer in the United States.
So how do you celebrate this fun holiday when you’re unable to visit your favorite bar? Below are a few fun ways you can celebrate National Beer Day without leaving your house:
Do a Group Video Chat
Properly protect yourself and go buy your favorite beer (or get it delivered) and schedule a fun Zoom of FaceTime session with some of your closest friends. You can all drink beer and chat like you normally would, just digitally.
This is the perfect option for those missing their friends. You could also play a drinking game together. There’s a fun online drinking game called Drunk Pirate. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s perfect for a group FaceTime session.
Bake with Beer
Have you ever had beer bread? It is so good! It has the hint of beer taste and it’s heavenly. It tastes delicious with butter just as a snack or for breakfast.
If you want to advance your baking skills, here is a recipe for you.
Wash Your Hair with Beer
Stop! Before you judge or keep scrolling, hear me out for a second. Catherine Zeta-Jones’ actually swears by it! The alcohol acts as a cleansing and shine agent. People have also noticed softer hair after washing their hair with beer.
I know I’m going to celebrate by doing a group session with my friends, I may even do my makeup for the first time in over a week for it. Hey, if I can’t go to a bar, I can at least make my bedroom a bar for a few hours. I plan on drinking an ice cold hefeweizen.
