4 Things We’re Coveting from True to US

Posted November 13, 2013 by in Shopping

We’ve recently been introduced to True to US, a new e-commerce site filled with well-crafted gifts and accessories all made in the United States. To learn more, we talked with founder John Ruggieri:

From the start of the “great recession,” Americans have become more aware that a majority of the manufacturing jobs in the US have been exported to other countries who can produce at a lesser cost.  While we all enjoy the things we own, we are now stopping to think of the impact that buying imported goods has had on our own economy.

As we all know by now, it’s very difficult to find affordable items made in the US. To be a part of the solution, John curated a collection of American-made gifts and accessories that we’d be proud to give as a gift to friends and family.

Below are four items on our holiday wish list!

Shower Gel

This shower gel is perfect for those who suffer from dry skin in the winter. It’s infused with a hint of bee balm and jojoba oil to create moisture-rich suds to restore lost luster.

Did we mention it smells like wildflowers and fern?!

Arrow Necklace

We love this hand carved arrow in 18K gold vermeil adorned with a white diamond. It’s the priciest item on the list, but it’s absolutely stunning!

Wine Scented Candles

Have a wine connoisseur in the family? If so, no cheap bottle of wine will do. Instead, consider giving a wine scented candle!

Each candle has been handcrafted from a repurposed wine bottle with a scent that mimics the flavors and aromas found in your favorite wines.

 Fresh Herbs

Have a chef on your list? If so, basil, mint, oregano and parsley are a must for their homes. Instead of giving them fresh herbs that’ll spoil in days, give them the opportunity to grow their own.

This beautifully packaged kit contains USDA organic Basil, OMRI listed soil and growing instructions.

*Made in Idaho
