Music and sound are the number one addiction in the world, and it is an excellent thing to be under the influence of. People love different sound styles and genres of music, but one thing we all share is the love for headphones.

To observe that, all you have to do is look at people commuting to work in the morning. They are probably listening to a favorite playlist, audiobook, or podcast.

There are even dedicated online platforms, like Headphones Addict, that review all kinds of headphones. You must be in love with your headphones too, and this is why it is essential to take good care of your set. Here is all you need to know about taking care of your headphones:

Clean Your Earbuds

Making sure to remove your rubber earbuds and clean them from time to time with a damp towel is an absolute necessity. You don’t want to transfer any kind of dirt inside your ears. If you want to be even more precise, try a toothpick dipped in water to remove earwax and dust from more restricted areas of your headphones. It is helpful to set up a notification on your phone to remind you about cleaning every other week.

Keep Your Headphones in a Case

Another helpful tip is to store your headphones in a designated case. When you are done using them, just roll them and put them inside your case. This should decrease the amount of dirt that is being transferred to your headphones when you toss them inside your bag or backpack.

Unplug After Use

You have to take care of the outside as well as the inside of your headphone set. Leaving your headphones attached to your devices can lead to some damage. When the cord is being pulled suddenly, this could cause the copper cord inside your headphones to break, leaving you with a pair of headphones that don’t work. Unplugging is a way of protecting your headphones from further damage, and it should be underestimated.

Hygiene is a crucial factor when it comes to the longevity of your devices. Follow all these rules, and be sure that your headphones will last you a long time.
