Office Style: Fresh Style
Posted 2 years ago by Melissa Murphy
Dominique is the Marketing and PR Manager for Karen Millen USA. She’s been a New York City resident for 2 years now and is originally from San Francisco, where she found her love for fashion. She spends a lot of her free time traveling, exploring NYC and occasionally dancing her butt off at downtown parties. Follow her on Twitter @missdominique.
Her style is edgy and chic mixed with the laid back, Cali style. She tends to gear towards black and dark colors, but likes to add a little pop with an animal print or rich color.
She has an amazing aura about her, and a pretty cool job to boot. I don’t know many people that can rock this look in general- especially to the office!
- ‘Jezebel’ Pump: $150 Jeffrey Campbell
Lucky for me, while at the Karen Millen store in Soho chatting with Dominique I found this perfect summer dress. I’m looking forward to wearing it at an upcoming summer event. I like the way it fits and the little lace and ruffle detail make it a perfect party dress. I also plan to pair it with a bright color blazer for the office.
- Karen Millen Lace Dress: $350
- Nine West Nude Pumps: $50 via Marshall’s
Besides my Karen Millen shopping spree, it was a really exciting week at the office! I helped coordinate the SocialChorus sponsorship at BlogWorld - one of the largest conferences for content creators held at the Javits Center this year. We hosted interviews with some of the biggest names in the industry including Jay Baer, Ted Rubin, and C.C. Chapman to Google+ pro Lynette Young and Katie Richman from ESPN.
I had the opportunity to get a sneak peek into what everyone was up to, plus share news about SocialChorus. (Yay, PR!) Overall, it was a huge success for work! But definitely exhausting, I haven’t stopped talking for 9 hours and these stilettos are really starting to hurt.
- Navy Blazer on Marcus: $59.95 h&m
- Calvin Klein Dress: $150

Trend Alert: High-Top Sneakers
Posted 2 years ago by Amanda Raye
Isabel Marant has officially started a trend with her Willow shoe. Aka, the high-top sneaker wedge! Not a fan of heels? Regular high-tops are just as trendy.
This trend has taken Europe by storm, and has just recently made its debut on the New York City streets. Get the lift you desire while sporting a casual look, or opt for the regular flat version. Either way, you’ll be stylin’. The more bright and loud the colors are, the better.
Unfortunatly, the Isabel Marant pair start at a whopping $760. Luckily for us broke fashionistas, ASOS has saved the day. Find a pair of wedge high-tops for only $82 on their website.
Other options for a wallet friendly wedge sneaker:
Nike’s ‘Dunk Sky Hi Liberty’ Hidden Wedge Sneaker: $130
Modcloth’s Heigh and Seek Wedge: $90
ASOS DENY Wedge High Top Trainers With Suede Detail: $82
If you’re not a fan of the wedge, check out Aldo for a funky pair that won’t hurt your feet. If you want to avoid the funk factor, stick with the traditional Converse. Try a pair in white, they’ll go with everything you own…even that LBD!

Jeffrey Campbell has easily become my favorite shoe company! Amazingly unique designs for a great price. Most of the shoes are between 100 and 200 dollars, which is quite reasonable for designer. Many of the designs are wedges, which in my opinion, are the most “comfortable” heel. But these wedges are an entirely different league of comfortable. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think an 8″ heel would be comfy, but they’re like walking on pillows. Regardless of their affordability, $200 is still a little much for my wallet. Living in the Big Apple equates to big bills. But luckily for me I have found some great alternatives!
Here’s a peek into the wonderful world of Jeffrey Campbell Shoes
“Revolver” $199.95The famous “Lita” $159.95
“99 Tie” $114.95
Cheaper Alternative Part I
This is the Jeffrey Campbell “Tick” shoe. $169.95
I found these wonderful “copycats” at Necessary Clothing on Broadway in Soho for only $29.99. I hope everyone gets the chance to stop at this wonderful store to get their own pair of Jeffrey Campbell “knock-offs.”
Cheaper Alternative Part II
“Pixie” $179.95“Zoe Fur” $199.95
These are also from Necessary Clothing in Soho. Only $19.99! They’re just as comfortable too!
You never know when you’ll come across the bargain of a lifetime!
