The latest security camera is taking flight…literally. A new drone camera that can fly inside your home or office to provide you more protection and safety when you are out of your home or office. It flies in your room or office independently by using a map of your room or office and when its flight is done, it returns to its dock to charge its battery.

Jamie Siminoff is the founder of smart home and home security company Ring Inc. According to him, the idea behind the invention of this drone cam is to provide you multiple views of your home or office without using multiple cameras.

In his recent interview, he said the company spent last two years on the development of the drone and obviously that device is very difficult to build. Credit goes to advancement in the drone technology with it; company is able to make this cam.

This drone camera is fully automatic, but owner can tell it what path it can take and where it can go by provide it a map. In this map, you should provide specific viewpoints such as kitchen, bedroom or TV lounge. The drone can be commanded to fly when a disturbance is detected by Ring Alarm System linked by drone.

The charging dock blocks the recording. Ring Drone Cam only records video when it is flying. Ring says the drone make an audible noise when drone is flying so it is obviously record footage.

This camera can be used to check simple things like if a door left open or a stove left on or you can check the door is locked or not when you are out of your home or office. Its OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE TECHNOLOGY allows it to avoid all objects in its path and its shrouded propellers prevent any damage to property or hurting a person or pet that might collide with the drone.

It is a very useful product and it will be very interesting to see if it works as promised but we have to wait until next year.
