If you’re trying to get healthy or lose weight, don’t fall victim to one of these BIG mistakes:
1. Skipping Breakfast
or lunch, or dinner, or “Hey, if I don’t eat I lose weight AND save money!” Yeah, that doesn’t work. Not only will your body go into starvation mode but you’ll ruin your skin, bone and muscle tissues, the money you will have to put into medical bills reversing this damage isn’t worth it.

2. Not Being Patient
All of our recent technology has made our patience grow thin. We want everything NOW. But if you want immediate results, you will have to spend a lot of money to achieve that goal of 10 lbs less in 4 days. Sadly…you’ll gain it all back one you start eating again.
How about taking the longer, healthier route which will not only save you money, but also saves you from hurting yourself by pushing too hard too fast? The key is to live a balanced lifestyle. The changes we make to our fitness and diet should be eternal. Otherwise, you’ll just spend your life on the Yo-Yo diet.

3. Pushing Too Hard
“Hey, I want to lose weight now, I’ll start with something light, like a Marathon” — Yeah, this doesn’t work very well for several reasons.
If you’re just starting to exercise, the pain will be unbearable. Put simply, your body is not used to this kind of strenuous effort and you’re not prepared with the right energy. Instead, start walking a mile everyday, then week by week, increase your speed.

4. Thinking you can eat whatever you want as long as you workout
Burn whatever you put in and you’ll lose weight – Yes and no. If you eat 1,600 calories a day, and burn 1,700, you will lose weight (slowly, but yes). But it’s also the quality of the calories that makes a difference.
Are you feeding the right tissue? Are you getting the right nutrients? Our bodies require certan things to get better, stronger and healthier. Living off of Cheetos and Kit-Kat bars may be cheaper, but that’s not a balanced diet. Even if you’re burning 2000 calories per day.

According to Shape Magazine, the USDA found that healthier foods are no more expensive than their highly processed counterparts. Researchers looked at more than 4,000 foods and found that items such as carrots, beans, lettuce, and bananas are all less expensive per portion than soft drinks, ice cream, candy, and sweets. No excuses!
I hope these tips help! Until next time…
