What is even a bedroom when the bed in it is not decorated? The bed is the centerpiece of your bedroom, and it must be given the desired attention.
A lot of families make a mistake when they invest in the entire bedroom interiors without thinking about the bed. This shouldn’t be the case.
That being said, a lot has been written about how you can decorate your bedroom, but not enough about your beds. And I am here to change that. Below, I have rounded several ways in which you can decorate your bed alone, which would make your bedroom look even better.
1. Identify the right size
When we talk about furniture in the bedroom, everything else should be secondary to the bed. So while investing in a bed, you need to first identify the size of your ideal bed.
Rather than going for a readymade size, I recommend you have a bed customized according to the size of your room. This would do the most justice, to you, to the room, and to the bed itself. If the room is big, a king-size bed should serve it right or, if the ceiling is too high, you need a tall headboard as well.
Consider all of this, explore a few options or if required seek an expert before making the final decision.
2. Invest in the right mattress
Although the mattress would be covered under bedsheets and pillows, in my personal opinion, aesthetics doesn’t matter, if they do not go hand-in-hand with comfort.
In today’s world, there are a lot of choices available for mattresses. It would be wise if you invest in something that provides maximum comfort and is also cost-friendly. You will not be buying mattresses every day so make sure you make the right choice.
3. Explore bed linens
When it comes to the aesthetics of your bed, the bedsheets play one of the most crucial roles. No matter how good or bad the bed is, you can change the game with the wrong or right choice of the bedsheet.
There are so many options available in the market today that you are literally spoilt by choices. Some people like patterns, while some like solids – so find what you like the most and go for them.
Further, do not restrict yourself to just one bedsheet. In fact, you can buy a few of them and keep changing them every week. This will also ensure bed hygiene and keep your bedsheet maintained.
My personal advice is that you must always go for bed sheets that are bright in color, no matter how attractive the darker colored ones are. This is because according to the color theory, it has a direct impact on the people in it.
Also, you must pick your bed sheets according to the bed size. For example, if you have a king-size bed, you must buy high-quality king single bed sheets which are 100% cotton, with high thread counts.
4. Make the pillows and cushions talk
Gone are the days when designers suggested keeping only two pillows and two cushions on your bed. Now, people are also busting all the conventional methods and experimenting out of the box.
Pillows and cushions promote comfort and coziness; they fill the bed and make it more attractive. That being said, you do not want to have too many of them either. If there are too many, they will occupy space on your bed a lot more than required.
Explore a variety of cushions and pillows of different sizes, shapes, and colors. This way you can arrange them all in a manner that appears visually pleasing.
So, these were a few ways in which you can decorate your bed and give a boost to the overall look of your bedroom. Now, what’s the wait worth? Go on, pick a few ways from the list and start implementing them!
