Plaid shirts are extremely versatile and a must-have for the Fall/Winter season. The one I’m wearing in all the looks below is from Forever 21 (it was under $20!), and I can’t seem to stop wearing it. There’s just so many options!
You can make it ultra feminine by wearing it with a skater skirt, or you can make it edgy by pairing it with leather. Plaid shirts are also great for layering under sweaters!
To get some more style inspiration when it comes to plaid shirts, check out my five different looks below, and then check out my blog.
1. With Leather
To edge up my plaid shirt, I decided to pair it with leather pants. Leather (or pleather) is a great way to turn something simple into something edgy. Kendall Jenner would approve!
- Plaid Shirt: $19.90 via Forever 21 (similar)
- Pleather Pants: $22.90 via Forever 21
- Necklace: $44.00 via Baublebar
2. Tied Around the Waist
This look is classic! Just tie your favorite plaid shirt around your waist when you’re not in the mood to try too hard. For my look below, I decided to wear a white tank, white jeans, and white sandals — very simple. The plaid shirt is just a bonus!
3. With a White Skirt
This outfit is so simple — yet it looks well thought out. I’m only wearing a white skirt and a plaid shirt, but my accessories amped up the look.
4. With a High-Waisted Skirt
For this look I paired several of my favorite items I’ve acquired over the season, which are: a lovely dark green high-waisted skirt, a blue bag, and my favorite boots of ALL TIME (seriously, they truly are my favorite!).
- Skirt: $22.90 via Forever 21
- Boots: $19.99 via Zara
5. Under a Sweater
For this look I layered the plaid shirt with a cream sweater, and styled the duo with leather shorts and my favorite sneakers. Even though I wore a lot of statement pieces, the outfit is still harmonious.
- Sweater: $15.90 via Forever 21 (similar)
- Pleather Shorts: $17.90 via Forever 21
- Leopard Sneakers: via ShoeDazzle
