5 Things to Do Before Summer’s Over

Posted August 13, 2013 by in Lifestyle

It may still be 90 degrees outside, but fall is actually just  five weeks away! Soon, you’ll be putting your shorts and tanks away for the year, but are you ready?

Summer is a great time to let loose, relax and just have fun, but it’s easy to get resentful when September hits — if you haven’t really taken advantage of the season. Below are five things you should consider doing before the temp drops:

1. Go on a last minute vacation

If you haven’t taken some sort of vacation yet, you might feel a tad bitter in a few weeks if you still don’t have a summer glow.

Going to Europe or the Caribbean may not be realistic, but there are a ton of all-inclusive resorts in the USA. Get a few friends involved and head to Miami!

If your wallet can handle it, relaxing in the sun with your favorite gal pals will definitely help you prepare for the cold weather ahead.

2. Learn how to use bronzer properly

This may seem silly, but so many people have no idea how to highlight and contour their faces. Believe me…your life will change the day you learn how to do this.

To get that Kardashian look, you’re going to need a good bronzer, blush and highlighter. To make application easier, invest in some brushes. I personally like these. They’re budget friendly and do the job just fine.

3. Go to your local museum

Just because you aren’t a history buff, doesn’t mean you should’t know your town or city’s history a bit better.

This would be a great thing to do on a rainy day. Finish it off with a late lunch at your favorite eatery. To save money, see if they have discount days!

4. Go to a concert

Summer is the best season to indulge in your favorite musicians, but seeing big names such as Beyonce and Dave Mathews can be pricey. Instead, check out venues that showcase up-and-coming bands. It’ll be a lot cheaper and just as fun!

5. Try the Cronut

The cronut is a pastry that has been taking the world by storm this summer. It’s best described as a donut-croissant hybrid — they’re supposed to be heavenly. You can find them at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in the Soho neighborhood of NYC. Be prepared to wait in a long line early in the morning (we’re talking 6am early). Do it and report back to us!
