I love a good shoe as much as the next gal, but let’s face it: shoes can be costly if you’re not paying attention. Trying to find a shoe of good quality that doesn’t break the bank requires a bit of technique and a few tricks. It’s like if you want high quality, you’ve got to choose designer names, but the cost of a high profile name can be more than you bargained for. However, going for something affordable could mean buying shoes more often than you need to. Luckily, being broke and chic is something I’m pretty good at.
Below are five ways to save money the next time you go shoe shopping:
1. Research Shoe Designers
The first thing you want to do is a little research on various shoe designers. Though some of them can be way out of your price range, many of them offer their products through affordable vendors. For example, Marc Fisher has shoes on sites that include DSW, Zappos, and Amazon. If you are interested in this designer, you should check out more about Marc Fisher on Instagram to determine if the styles are right for you.
2. Look for Coupons
I can’t stress how many times coupons have helped me afford a shoe that is both of high quality and affordable. Your best bet is to look around for coupons for shoes on the designers you’re interested in. There are lots of online coupons that can be used for additional savings. You can also consider following the designer on social media as they may offer discounts to their followers as a means to earn new business.
3. Look for Buy One Get One Deals
Another way to get shoes that you really love at a price you can afford is to look for ‘buy one get one’ deals. This is when you can purchase one pair of shoes and get another for free or for a very affordable price. While paying $200 for a good pair of shoes may not seem feasible, getting two pairs of shoes at $200 or $150 seems more practical.
4. Look for Shipping Discounts
If you’re purchasing shoes online shipping costs can factor into how much you can spend. Rather than spend money on the shipping costs you can look for vendors who offer discounted or free shipping on your purchases. Many online vendors will offer you free shipping if you’re going to spend more than $50-$100 on a purchase. This could save you anywhere from $10-20 on your purchase (if not more).
5. Shop Off Season
I’m a clearance sale queen. I love being able to find shoe fashions that I want at an affordable price. When the season is just about ending, head to your favorite shoe store and buy up any fashions you really like.
The shoes will be marked down as the vendors are trying to get rid of their inventory to make room for the new styles. You can save as much as 50-75% on the cost of your shoe purchase.
