Makeup in the summer can be tricky. It’s hot and humid, and so the second you leave the house you begin to sweat. If you do decide to wear makeup, you’ll slowly sweat it off as the day progresses — this can (somewhat) be prevented, just follow our tips. But sometimes, even the best mascaras, eyeshadows and eyeliners smudge due to excess perspiration.

Mauve is the perfect everyday lip color since it pairs well with most outfits and it’s never overpowering.
I’m wearing the Maybelline Color Whispers lip color in Made It Mauve. It goes on like a chapstick so it’s extremely moisturizing without being too creamy and it’ll make your lips softer if you use it daily. It personally reminds me of the Clinque Chubby Sticks for half the price.

6. Plum
Most people consider plum to be a fall color but I personally think a bold plum lip stain on a hot summer night is not only daring, but fun too! Besides, purple lipgloss is starting to become popular. Below I’m wearing Maybelline’s 10 Hour Stain Gloss in Pleasing Plum.
First, make sure your lips are moisturized. I recommend exfoliating them the night before and going to sleep with either Vaseline or cocoa butter on them. Once your lips are properly moisturized, continue layering on the stain until it’s at your desired intensity. Wait about 30 seconds between each layer. I have four layers on below.
