The Naked Palette from Urban Decay is by far my favorite eyeshadow palette…ever! Before my knowledge of its existence, I had dozens and dozens of different eyeshadows. When I finally gave in and splurged on it…I was able to give all my other eyeshadows away. I simply didn’t need them anymore. This palette literally has everything you need.
From a simple look using this palette’s Half Baked and Smog colors, all the way to a dramatic smokey eye using Creep and Hustle with a white eyeliner for a bigger eye look…the Naked Palette has my back. Unfortunately, it’s pricey. Lately I’ve been wondering what I’m going to do when it’s all gone. Will I just replace it? Or will I try to find a cheaper option?
Instead of waiting to find out, I’ve decided to give a few Naked Palette wannabes a try, and to my surprise…I was quite happy. Below are my findings:
1. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Palette
The Physician Formula Shimmer Strips Palette in Warm Nude is a great alternative to the Naked Palette. The shadow goes on smoothly and the colors are very similar. The only downfall is this palette doesn’t include any black shadow, so you’ll have to purchase a few more shadows if you’re craving a strong smokey eye.
$13.99 on iHerb and at drug stores nationwide
2. Sephora’s Primal Instincts Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has all the Naked favorites (Virgin, Sin, Sidecar, Half Baked and Creep) with a few added purple tones. It’s still on the pricey side ($28), but it’s still way cheaper than the original.
Update: This palette is not longer available from Sephora, but this one is—and it’s only $14!
3. e.l.f. Studio Palette in Natural
Why does e.l.f. have to be amazing all the time? This palette features similar colors as Naked, with a ton of other tones as well. The best part? It’s only $14.00!
Update: This palette is now called The New Classics Eyeshadow Palette. Get yours on the e.l.f. website for at a drugstore near you.
4. Hard Candy Top Ten Palette in Neutrals
The Hard Candy neutral palette has all the warmth and gold Naked has. Downfall…no blacks, again. Just make sure you use an eyelid primer with this palette, otherwise it won’t last all day.
5. Mark Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral
Don’t really use the blacks in the Naked Palette anyway? This palette is all you need!
Update: This palette is no longer made, but you can find a similar one from Maybelline for $10—find it here and here.
6. Inglot Custom Palette
Inglot is an affordable luxury makeup company from Europe. They’re known for their bold and vibrant colors, but what sets them apart from other makeup lines is they have a feature in their stores where you can design your own palette! I love my Naked Palette, but I’ve never used three of the shadows that come with it.
With Inglot, you can re-create the Naked Palette, including only the colors you’ll actually use. Take a look at their locations to find a store near you. Depending on the amount of colors you choose, the price should stay under $40.
7. the Balm Nude’tude Palette
The Nude’tude Palette from the Balm is just as high-end as Urban Decay with similar colors as Naked for about $14.00 less!
8. NYX Nude on Nude Palette
This is another great palette that compares to Naked—find it here for less than $15.
