Sticking to the health plan was easy early on, especially as half your friends were on one, too. But it’s becoming a lot harder now that the warmer months are here.

Host Dinner Parties

The summer is a great time for socializing with friends and trips to the nearest restaurant or beer garden are an all too common occurrence. Whilst these are great fun, they can also be a nightmare when you’re counting calories. Battle this by hosting a garden party at your own home.

During the winter months, hitting the treadmill seems like the only viable form of exercise. Now that the sun is out, you should make the most of it by signing up for a summer sporting activity.

The change of scene is bound to keep you motivated. Taking up a sport like hockey also offers a fun environment that will allow you to meet new friends and socialize. Moreover, these people are likely to be interested in staying healthy too so you can always share health tips together.

Depending on your location, you could even take up a water sport to really generate a sense of added fun to your working out regime. That’s not to say you won’t still hit the gym on a regular basis, but shaking things up will bring benefits. Not just now, but also when the winter months return.



Don’t Beat Yourself Up Over A Cheat Day

One of the chief motives for getting fitter was to enjoy the summer. Don’t live like a nun just because you like your body.

There’s nothing wrong with a cheat day or two. Life is there to be enjoyed and the occasional night of drinks or eating bad won’t do you any harm. The key is moderation. As long as you retain your healthy habits in general, you shouldn’t face any real issues.

If you know that you’re gonna have a bad day or two then prepare for this. Sandwich those cheat days with strict days to rid any feelings of guilt. Whatever you do, just remember that a good body isn’t the only key to your happiness.
