Broke Fashion: Shop My Summer 2021 Wardrobe

Posted August 11, 2021 by in Fashion

While I definitely wore a dress here and there last summer, my usual was athleisure. With everything being closed and the strict stay-at-home order in place, there didn’t really seem a need to get dressed up in a cute summer dress to just sit in my living room or front steps. Well…this summer is a bit different due to the vaccine. While I’m personally still being careful in my day-to-day life despite being vaccinated, I now feel comfortable going out to dinner every now and then and enjoying the occasional brewery and museum. There are just so many fun things to do here in Los Angeles!

Since I didn’t have many fun summer outfits, I decided to do a bit of shopping. I started building my summer wardrobe back in June through thrifting when I went back to the East Coast to visit my family. While I did find a few great things at both Savers sand Goodwill, I didn’t luck out with sundresses or shorts—so a shopping haul was in order. I was even able to get some swimsuits and new accessories! I mostly shopped at SHEIN, Old Navy, Target, and Zenni.

I’m obsessed with this gingham dress. My sandals were thrifted! They’re Kork-Ease and I got mine at Goodwill for $14. I found the bag at a flea market here in LA for $40. I found a similar one for you on Etsy…shop it below.
Perfect outfit for a night out.
I love pairing my Nike AF1’s with summer dresses.
Not gonna lie…this has been my look every day this summer.

I’m in love with this swimsuit and it was less than $15.
This look is perfect for hot California nights. The jeans are Old Navy and the sandals were thrifted from Goodwill.
While I don’t have any weddings to attend this summer…this would would be perfect. I’m 5’2″ and I’m surprised I don’t need to hem this. Buy it if you’re a shorty like me.
This is actually a swimsuit…but I like it as a bodysuit better. I found the sandals at Nordstrom Rack.
A simple blue gingham blouse.
I seriously can’t get enough of these pink lenses. They are prescription and they are life changing. I see everything in a pretty pink hue. They are less than $25 via Zenni. When you order the pink frames, opt for the rose lenses instead of the traditional clear. You won’t regret it! I have them in yellow as well.
