I finally got my hands on the e.l.f Eyelid Primer. I was at the dollar store the other day and couldn’t resist giving it a try. I’m a total fan of Urban Decays Eyeshadow Primer Potion, but it’s $18.00 so if a cheaper option exists that gives me similar results, bring it on.
I paired the primer with a shimmery hot pink e.l.f shadow and the results were vibrant and crease-less. I absolutely loved it but there are some pro’s and con’s.
(this look only cost me $4.00 between the primer, shadow, eyeliner pen, and mascara- all e.l.f)
This is the result after 6 hours
Pro’s
*It’s only $1.00
*A little goes a long way
*It lasted almost all day (I needed to reapply the shadow after work before I went out again)
*No creasing
Con’s
*You have to wait for it to dry ( I can put shadow right over Urban Decay’s primer immediately)
*More liquid like
*Color begins to fade after about 6 hours.
(e.l.f does have a Mineral Eyelid Primer that is $3.00 that I’m going to try next)
P.S: All in all I like Urban Decay’s primer better, but the e.l.f version is $17.00 cheaper so it’s a great substitute if you don’t have any extra money to spend on makeup.
