  1. Aloe

Do you always forget to water your houseplants? This can put you off the prospect of going to buy a plantBut, that’s no problem here. In fact, you’re more likely to kill the aloe plant by over-watering it.

The aloe plant also has medicinal qualities. You’ve probably heard of the smaller version called aloe vera. The bigger ones can grow up to 3-feet tall. The striking pointed leaves can raise in the mood in any room.

You should place your aloe plant where it will get a lot of sunlight. It also enjoys room temperature. 

  1. Spider Plant 

The spider plant never seems to go out of fashion. There are so many different types of spider plant. They also make great indoor hanging plants. They can expand quite a lot though to keep them looking trim.

If you have a dimly light home, the spider plant can live on less natural light than most houseplants. Keep the soil moist and your spider plant will thrive.

  1. Rubber Tree

If you want something a little bigger for your home, then the rubber tree is a wise choice. This houseplant can grow to be up to 8 feet high.

The dark green leaves work well in any background. You don’t have to water very frequently to keep your rubber tree looking fine. It can also cope under moderately low and high temperatures. This means you don’t need to worry about seasonal changes to your home. 

  1. The Peace Lily

If you want a plant which oozes peace and quiet, the peace lily is a beautiful houseplant. The white flowers can lift your mood on dark days. This plant also doesn’t need much sunlight. While warm temperatures are fine, the peace lily does require regular watering to keep it healthy.

Perhaps the most popular of all houseplants, the ficus can be a little picky about getting enough sunlight.  However, one of the beautiful things about his houseplant is that you don’t have to worry about watering it too often. In fact, the ficus even prefers a week or so without water.
