Five Tips for Planning a Girls’ Trip

Posted July 19, 2021 by in Lifestyle

Family holidays are all well and good, but sometimes you just want to have a little unrestrained fun! While spending time with your loved ones can be super rewarding, it is important to let your hair down once in a while and hang with your besties.

Planning a girls’ getaway can be almost as much fun as the trip itself! You get to explore exotic locations, plan awesome experiences, and spend hours getting lost in beautiful photos of gorgeous hotels, spas, beaches, and picturesque destinations.

But planning a girls’ trip also takes a little dedication and focus. Everyone will have a different idea about what makes a fabulous trip, whether it’s a Caribbean cruise vacation or a weekend camping in a National Park. Ensuring everyone has a great time takes a bit of care, attention, and forethought.

If you want your getaway to be a smash hit, you’ll want to take a look at the five tips below, which will ensure that you and your squad have the time of your life and the vacation of a lifetime.

Find Out What Your Friends Need

As we mentioned above, everyone will have different ideas about what a good group vacation looks like and what they want to do. Managing this is important, but more important is ensuring that everyone has everything they actually need. Desires are all very well, but requirements are a deal-breaker, so make sure you know what your girlfriends need and build it into your plan.

Set a Budget

Budgeting is one of the trickiest parts of organizing a group vacation. We are all different, all have different economic situations, and all have different levels of what we can or want to afford. Setting a budget before the trip even starts ensures clarity from the get-go. It means that everyone knows what they are getting into and knows how much they need to set aside for the experience. It allows everyone to be on the same page, money-wise, regardless of what individual circumstances are.

Pick the Right Accommodation

Choosing the right place to stay can make a girls’ getaway. One great tip is to pick accommodation that encourages you all to spend time with each other. So booking a bunch of hotel rooms, while tempting, is usually a worse option than finding an incredible homestay with comfy couches, a big kitchen, and maybe even a pool… This way, you all hang out together more, get deep-and-meaningful after dark, and generally have more fun!

Plan in Advance

The most successful girls’ trips are planned in advance. And we are talking waaaaaay in advance, too! If you can face the organization, it is worth beginning your preliminary research and talking to invitees up to a year before you plan to go! I know that sounds like a lot, but when you are dealing with a group, there are always more moving parts than you expect, and there is always something unexpected that pops up during the process.

Giving yourself plenty of time ensures that all issues, hurdles, and hiccups can be smoothly and easily dealt with.

Be Relaxed

But don’t get too stressed! A girls’ vacay is meant to be fun, lighthearted, and above all, relaxing. So while you might be planning in advance, don’t over-plan the trip itself. Leave plenty of room for people to do their own thing, or just do nothing at all! Time spent relaxing by the pool or napping in a hammock is very much part of the girls’ getaway experience and will leave you feeling totally zen by the end of the trip!
