Get Beautiful Beach Waves In 5 Easy Steps

Posted June 5, 2013 by in Beauty

Summer is almost here! Learn how to create beautiful polished beach waves, like Adrienne Bailon and Taylor Swift, all on your own with these five easy steps!

Unfortunately, doing your own curls can take forever. Especially when you have to take out that bulky metal curling iron that takes twenty minuets to heat up. Over the years, I have found clipless curling irons to be a fast alternative. They heat up fast, don’t have a clamp and are usually ceramic based, so they won’t damage your hair.

If your going to purchase anything that involves heat touching your hair, don’t go with the cheapest — you typically get what you pay for when it comes to hair products and tools. Also, don’t forget a heat protectant spray before you start!

We at Broke & Chic highly recommend the 25mm clipless curling iron from Brilliance New York. This iron gives you perfect curls with no lines, creases or heat damage. With this iron, it shouldn’t take you any more than ten minuets to curl your whole head!

Beach Waves in 5 Easy Steps With Brilliance New York’s Clipless Curling Iron

Step 1:  Brush your hair prior to styling then separate your hair in 1′ inch sections.

Step 2: Apply Brilliance New York’s heat protecting spray ($15) to help guard your hair from heat and day to day damage. Then set the iron to 392° F or lower for thinner hair.

Step 3: Separate 1′ inch sections, wrap your hair around the barrel

Step 4: Hold for 5 to 8 seconds then gently allow your curl to fall off the iron.

Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 all throughout your hair until you’re done. If you find your hair too be to curly, brush it out with a paddle brush. It’ll give you soft waves instead.

Tip: Make your new look last a few days by putting your hair in a tight bun at night. Sleeping on a satin pillow case will prevent frizzing.
