I think we can all agree that the winter months are the longest…and when the bright lights and festive cheer of the holiday season are already a distant memory, then everything just seems to drag even slower. Spring can seem like a lifetime away, and summer even more so. So, if you’re feeling a little down in the dumps after the long hard winter months, the terrible weather, and the cold and sickness bugs we seem to pick up every five minutes, don’t worry.
Here you’ll find five ways you can totally spoil yourself this month, and hopefully Spring will be a little bit closer by the time you’ve done them all:
A weekend away
It doesn’t have to be anywhere fancy or you could go all out and head abroad for a few days (there are some great deals to Europe right now) – remember you’ll need travel insurance if you’re heading abroad, check out UHC Safe Trip for the latest information and prices.
From a gorgeous boutique B&B in the countryside to a posh, extravagant hotel overlooking the city lights, there’s nothing better then getting away from it all for a couple of days. You could keep yourself busy searching the sights and exploring a new place or just stay in the hotel room and order room service. Your choice!
When I travel, I personally love going the cheaper route. I usually book an Airbnb, and just wander around.
We all love a tasty treat, so why not have a go at baking something yourself. There are loads of step-by-step recipes on the internet and videos to follow on YouTube, from a gorgeously thick cream cake to a tray of chocolate brownies – just make sure you hide them from your roommates! Unless you’re nice and actually want to share 😉
Transform your bedroom
This might sound more like hard work than anything else, but it doesn’t have to be. Simply remove all the clutter from your room, treat yourself to some brand new bed linen, some new pillows, cushions and throws, and light a few candles. Before you know it, you’ll have a gorgeous new bedroom to relax and unwind in. You could even spritz a little lavender room spray to help you unwind.
Head to the spa
Did someone say a weekend spa break? Who doesn’t love walking around in a fluffy robe and slippers, relaxing in a hot tub and sweating it out in a sauna or steam room? Add a few treatments in and you’ll feel like a new woman! If a full weekend retreat is a little out of your budget, don’t worry. Head to a local beauty salon or day spa and spoil yourself with a massage or facial.
You could even do an at home spa evening with your friends. Buy a few face masks and binge watch a new show.
Get some fresh air
We all spend too much time indoors staring at our screens, so why not spoil yourself with a walk in the great outdoors? Spending time in nature is a guaranteed way to reduce your stress levels and your blood pressure, so head out and take your time. You could even take a picnic with you. Just try not to look at your phone every five minutes.
