Getting that catalog or magazine look is very desirable and may not be as expensive as you first think. With a few very simple tricks, you can have your home looking fantastic and yet being totally comfortable and luxurious too.

Making your house into the home of your dreams is so within reach. With a few small changes, you can create the desired look, make small rooms look bigger, and still create more space with clever storage options within an area that you feel you have not got.

Spruce Up Your Kitchen

Sprucing up your kitchen may not cost as much as you think, especially if you have recently had it refurbished. You can give your kitchen a whole new look just by changing your accessories and the color of your curtains or blinds.

If you are lucky enough to have a breakfast bar in your kitchen or even a table and chairs, you can just change either your bar stools or the cushions on your chairs and put a new tablecloth over your table to bring out a new color scheme.

Obviously, if your kitchen needs a bit more of a makeover, but funds are not as readily available as you would like, there is always the option of replacing your cupboard doors or even just painting the ones you have to create a totally new look, and with new handles, you may find that is all you need.

Create an En-suite or Dressing Room

Most people nowadays like to have an en-suite and a dressing room to the master bedroom. You will see from most new-build homes that this is a highly desired feature, especially of houses of a certain size and upwards.

Converting a small bedroom in your home to be your master suite’s dressing room is not unheard of, and there are ways to make your dressing room look great, functional, and practical too. If you do not have a small bedroom to convert, then with space-saving ideas, it is possible to have a dressing area as part of your main bedroom without it overtaking your room and providing you with lots of beneficial storage to boot.

Soft Furnishings

You would be surprised at the amount of difference the right soft furnishings can have on any room in the home. With the right colors for your palette, you can make any room feel comfortable, finished, and luxurious at the same time.

However, it is very easy to go too mad with the soft furnishings and make your home feel quite the opposite, cluttered and overpowering in colors. This can have a detrimental effect and can cause unease.

It is best to focus your cushion colors, for example, on accents within your curtaining material if you have floral or patterned curtains to get the best effect.
