How to Escape the Nine to Five in 4 Steps

Posted February 9, 2022 by in Career

Do you feel like you’re stuck in a rut? Do you feel like you’re going through the motions day after day, and you can’t seem to break free? If so, you’re not alone. Millions of people are stuck in jobs they hate simply because they don’t know how to escape the nine to five. In this blog post, we will discuss some tips on how to make a change for the better and start living the life you’ve always dreamed of!

#1 Get Off the Couch

You’re never going to get anywhere if you don’t make any changes! Spend some time thinking about what it is that makes you unhappy at work, then take steps towards improving those aspects of your life. Make a list of things that contribute to your unhappiness at work. These could include poor management, lack of communication from senior staff members or colleagues who are not pulling their weight, and making sure everyone else does all the work instead.

Once you have done this exercise for yourself, start talking about these things with other people (friends, family, etc.), so they can give an unbiased opinion on how well you’ve been doing in terms of getting out there more often and doing more activities outside home etcetera.

#2 Set Small Goals

When it comes to making a change in your life, it’s important to set small goals rather than trying to do everything at once. This will help you avoid feeling overwhelmed and stressed out, which can often lead to giving up before you’ve even started.

If your goal is to escape the nine to five, start by setting a goal for yourself such as “I want to start a business within the next six months” or “I want to start saving money so I can afford to quit my job.” Once you have achieved this goal, set another one and continue on in this way until you have reached your final destination!

Small goals also allow for more manageable tasks that won’t seem impossible when looked at individually. For example, instead of trying to start a business right away, try setting smaller goals such as looking at different opportunities in the north east and making a shortlist.

#3 Make a Plan

Once you’ve set your goals, it’s time to make a plan to achieve them. A good way of doing this would be creating an action list consisting of the steps required in order for each goal to be achieved; you could also try making use of SMART (Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Time-bound) methodology here as well which involves breaking down large objectives into smaller ones that can then all link back up together when completed successfully!

#4 Set a Deadline

It’s important to set yourself deadlines for each goal so that you know exactly how long it should take to reach them. This can help motivate you and give an idea of when things will happen, as well as giving some pressure to get things done on time!
