Getting a unique Christmas gift doesn’t have to break the bank. In fact, there are many inexpensive gift ideas for every member of your family, as well as your friends.
If you’re concerned that they may already have everything you can think of and you’re out of ideas, take a look at this list for some unique holiday gifts:
A Bottle of Wine
There are many great tasting, inexpensive bottles of wine that can be found at your local liquor store. If you need help finding a specific kind, ask for help and tell them your budget.
Many employees at these stores are knowledgeable on the differences between red and white wine, and which ones are an excellent value for their price.
If you can’t decide on just one gift, buying a Christmas Hamper is an excellent way to give a themed gift over the holidays. Many places like Hampers with Bite have a large selection of Christmas hampers that come with cookies, candles, teas, Christmas ornaments, and wine.
They come prepackaged in beautiful ribbons and boxes and can be sent right to their door if you live far away from them.
Buy them a month for a subscription service that they already use. Everyone uses either Disney+, Netflix, HULU, or Crunchyroll to watch their television nowadays, and buying them a free month of movie viewing will definitely bring a smile on their face.
If they don’t already use a streaming service, or they have no interest in using one, you could buy them a Spotify, Tidal, or Apple Music subscription for the music nerd in your life.
It used to be that board games were limited to the ones found in the store, but now there are plenty of board games that were crowdfunded successfully or were independently made that are just as popular as Monopoly. You’ve probably heard of Card Against Humanity, Munchkins, or Catan because of their popularity in the Indie board game scene.
Go to your local comic book shop and browse their endless selection of games and get one that they’d like to play. Once you’re there, you can also give them vintage comic books if they’re into comics or if they’re into collecting vintage collectibles.
Socks or a Scarf
When I was a kid, I hated opening up a present to find socks, underwear, or a scarf because they weren’t considered fun additions to my video game collection. As an adult, getting socks and underwear is exciting, because you probably need them anyway. In fact, you can never have too much of the essentials. As a positive, they’re easy to buy because even if they aren’t to their taste, they will likely use them anyway.
As an alternative, you could learn how to knit them comfy socks or an infinity scarf. Both are relatively simple to do, as they are one of the patterns beginners use to get used to knitting. Find a color of yarn that goes with everything, like black or grey, and find a design online. They’ll appreciate the work you put into their gift.
