I don’t know about you, but I’ve been hardcore crushin’ on light wash denim lately. But I’m going to be real…I’ve been having a hard time finding the perfect pair for bae (aka: da booty).
Yes, the booty is bae.
Back in the day, American Eagle Outfitters was my go-to place for denim. But things changed (they changed their fit and the booty got a bit bigger), and I forgot about them. After a recent trip to Times Square (I know, I know) I made a quick pit stop, and something amazing happened…
I found the perfect pair of cropped light wash denim. Woot!
They fit perfectly and they’re extremely comfortable. I originally decided ‘I must have these ripped light wash jeans‘ when I saw my favorite fashion blogger, Audrey of Lulu Linden, in a pair. She always looks fly, but she put light wash denim back on the map for me. Thanks Audrey!
I paired the Artist Crop denim with other basics to create a not so basic look:
- Denim: $39.99 via American Eagle Outfitters
- Top: $9.95 via H&M
- Sandals: $24.90 via Forever 21
- Necklace: $4.90 via Forever 21
- Sunnies: $10 via the Williamsburg Flea
- Bag: $40 via Promod
The black top is about three years old — those H&M basics just don’t quite! The Birkenstock look-a-likes are great, but they are pretty much done (the bottoms are almost worn down 100%). I’ve worn them daily for about three months now, so I thinks it’s time to invest in a real pair of Birks.
What are your thoughts on the distressed light wash denim comeback? All for it, or do you think they belong back in 2006?
