And by too late…I mean before the clock strikes 12 on January 1st, 2024. But to be honest? I think a sparkly dress is a year-round yes. But that’s just me….anyway…
The pandemic is over and that means people are ready to party for NYE—finally! I’m crossing my fingers for no rain this year. Last NYE would have been the perfect year to go all out after all those years since it landed on a Saturday and the pandemic was technically over, but it rained buckets. At least it did here in Los Angeles. To be honest, this New Year’s Eve may be your biggest NYE celebration since ringing in 2020.
Ringing in 2021 felt weird—none of us knew what was going on. Vaccines weren’t available yet, social gatherings were frowned upon, and everything was closed shut. My now husband and I ordered takeout from one of our favorite Sichuan restaurant here in LA —Xiang La Hui—and stayed in watching movies. While things were open for NYE to ring in 2022, the energy to go out just wasn’t there—things were still a little…weird (at least here in LA). And ringing in 2023? It would have been perfect to go all out, but it rained and it poured in LA, making getting all decked out kind of un-fun. Instead, my husband and I went to our friend’s place down the street—and I dressed cozy, not sparkly. When I say the weather was bad here in LA last NYE, I mean it.
But this year? I’m ready to get dressed up. Especially since this will be my last NYE party for awhile. I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant, so I’m sure next NYE my husband and I will be cozy at home with our little one.
So this year, I want to wear sparkles, I want to wear heels, I want to wear fluffy faux lashes, and I want to dance.
