Learn to Say ‘Yes’, But Understand That It’s Okay to Say ‘No’.
It can be really easy to get into the habit of saying ‘no’ to everything. When was the last time you actually said yes? Have you ever convinced yourself that you can’t go for a drink with your friends, because you need to do the laundry? Let’s face it, these excuses we use are pretty lame, and we know that the laundry can wait. But it’s so easy to say no, to go home and hide away from the world, without forcing yourself out of your comfort zone.
How about saying ‘Yes’. Just once, I dare you to say yes to something, instead of spouting the same old excuses. It can be unnerving, but saying yes every now and again can really improve your mood, and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is good for your mental health. Bear it in mind, however, that you don’t need to say yes to everything. It’s okay to say no. After all, everyone needs a duvet day every so often.
