Your wedding day is going to be one of the most significant days of your life. It’s the day you will tie yourself forever to the man or woman of your dreams and it’s the start of a new life chapter. You’ll want to remember the day for the rest of your life, and the best way to do that is with wedding photos.

You’ll be able to look back on how beautiful the event that changed your life was whenever you want to and you’ll be able to share them with your loved ones and future children. That’s why having nice photos from your wedding day is something you should seriously consider as they will likely be hanging up in your home (and maybe even the home of your future children) forever.

There are many good photographers to hire, like Bangor Maine Wedding Photographer: Catherine J. Gross. Photographers can make or break the memories you want to keep; hence it is recommended that you choose your photographer wisely.

When choosing a photographer, you have to keep in mind that rushing is not an option. You have to take as much time needed to ensure that the photographer that will be working on your wedding is the best one there is.  Unfortunately this can be very challenging since that there are a lot of photographers willing and available to render you the service, but of course, not all of them can adhere to your standards and requirements.

If you are in the midst of trying to find the right photographer to hire for your wedding day, you need to ask questions. Asking questions does not mean you have to hire them, so don’t hold back when going through the initial consultation.

If you don’t know what questions to ask your maybe wedding photographer, we’re here to help. Below are a few questions you should ask the wedding photographer you’re looking to hire:

Are You Available On My Wedding Day?

This is the first questions you have to ask, as if they are not, cut the conversation and move to the next photographer on your list. You may also want to ask their flexibility in terms of location, especially if your wedding will be celebrated in area not close to home.

Do You Have a Portfolio?

Reputable wedding photographers are going to have a website as well as a blog of some sort that displays their work. It’s very important to view it so you know their photography style and their level of creativity. If you are satisfied with what you see, great! If not, move onto the next photographer on your list.

Can You Provide Me with References?

Although not all photographers can provide you with list of their clients due to privacy, in case they do, make sure that you give their previous clients a call just to get a review directly from someone who worked with them first hand.

When calling them, make sure to go direct to the point and avoid going around the bush. Their time is precious like yours, hence cut the crap and ask questions that are only relevant to your purpose.

Immediately introduce yourself and the purpose of your call so they won’t feel like their privacy is being invaded.

How Much Do You Charge?

Most of the time, the rates of the photographer are available on their website. If they aren’t, it’s very important you ask as the pricing for wedding photography varies. You don’t want to be startled by the price when you get the bill.

If you’re getting married in an off-season or you’re having a weekday wedding, don’t be afraid to also ask if they have any discounts available. However, don’t expect them to give into your discount request.

We hope the tips above help you on your wedding planning journey!
