1. A Beach Book

There’s nothing better than laying on the beach or by the pool with a good book. Our first choice happens to be Skinny Bitch in Love. It hit the stands only a few days ago…just in time for beach season. It’s the co-founder of the Skinny Bitch empire’s first novel. It’s Chick-lit to the max so it’ll be the perfect summer read.

2. Sunglasses

Stylish sunglasses are a must in the summer! We’re in love with this matte teal pair of Ray-Bans from Red Hot Sunglasses.

If you’re not in the positon to splurge on a pair of sunnies this summer, these will do just fine.

3. Sunscreen

This is an obvious one…right? If you’re going to be out in the sun for a substantial amount of time, definitely use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or above. We really like spray-on sunscreen since it’s more convenient to apply.

If you’re just going out for brunch with the girls or on a quick coffee run, make sure your daily lotion has SPF. We really like the daily body lotion from Alba that has SPF 15.

4. CC Cream

CC Cream is the latest beauty trend and it decided to show its face just in time for summer. It stands for “complexion corrector” and like BB Cream, it originated in Asia.

What’s the difference? BB Creams blur lines and other minor imperfections while CC Creams actually color correct complexion problems such as sallow, dull, red and grey skin as well as dark spots and acne. If you have problem skin, then you should consider adding CC Cream to your summer makeup routine.

If you’re interested in giving it a try, we recommend the one from Hard Candy…it’s only $8!

5. Hair Serum

We tend to wash our hair more often during the hotter months due to constant sweating and exposure to salt water and chlorine. To save your locks from all the chemicals and heat, consider applying a serum that contains keratin protein to your ends after every shower to keep the frizz at bay.

6. A Large Bag

To put all the stuff above in!

We really like the large bag above from Aldo. Its pale pink color will be the perfect addition to all your summer outfits!

7. A Watercolor Dress

Watercolor prints are extremely beautiful and perfect for late night walks on the beach as well as lunch dates. We really like the one below from Gentle Fawn.

8. Knitwear

Seriously! Summer nights can get chilly if you’re by the water. We really like this one from Left on Houston. It has 3/4 sleeves and a cute print so it won’t look awkward paired with shorts. It’s also more fashionable than a boring hoodie.
