If you are looking to try and get fitter and healthier, then you will probably be on the lookout for some great exercises you can try out. With so many out there, however, how can you possibly know whether they are right for you, or which might be the ones you should go for first and foremost? One way to look at this is to try and find workouts that you can easily do at home, as that means you are more likely to do them and therefore more likely to stick with it and get really fit.

Let’s take a look then at some of the best workouts to do at home. All of the following are exercises you can easily do under your own roof, no matter what, and they are definitely things that you might want to consider at the very least if you are on a health kick right now.

Yoga

A lot of people practice yoga these days, and while it often looks very different to the tradition it originally came from, there is no doubt it’s good for you in quite a few important ways. Most practitioners find that yoga benefits not just their body but their minds, and it’s therefore something you are going to want to consider if you are trying to look after yourself better in general.

If you want to get into yoga at home, there are so many YouTube series you can try which are designed to do just that for you. And all you’ll need is your yoga mat and some space to move around in. It’s a fantastic way to get fit without going anywhere at all, so try it out if you have not already done so.

Pilates

In a similar vein to yoga, pilates is another thing which you might want to try out at home, and which can be very good for you too. In fact, it can be quite incredible how powerful pilates can really be. You can think of pilates as a kind of progression from yoga, but with more of a focus on core exercises and grounding exercises. It’s something that a lot of people swear by, and it can help you develop strength as well as resilience. It is also known for a lot of people to be great for boosting energy levels, which is always going to be welcome for most of us.

To get going in pilates at home, again you won’t need a great deal. Perhaps pilates reformers or at least a mat, and definitely some kind of video series that you can follow along with. The main thing is that you stick with it and give it your all. If you can do that, you should find that it makes a huge difference to how you feel very quickly, and it might soon be the fittest you have ever been.

Planking

This is not an entire system, but a specific kind of exercise which is known to be extremely good for you, and it’s something that you are certainly going to want to try out at the very least. A plank is simply a position in which you hold yourself up by your forearms and toes, facing the ground. Hold this position for as long as you can, but ideally at least a minute, and then more and more as you practice going forwards.

To ensure it is as successful as possible, you should make sure that you are tightening your glutes and abs as you plank. If you want to have a decent stomach and you want to feel generally strong, this is a home exercise that can do that for you really easily, so it’s definitely something you should add to your workout program as necessary.

Pull-Ups

Similarly, another great workout that everyone can try at home is the pull-up. For this you will need a strong pull-up bar, so that you can have something to do safely and without damaging either your body or parts of your home. Then it’s literally just a case of pulling your own body weight up, and it is one of the very best muscle workouts there are. If you are looking to have bigger muscles in the arms in particular, then this is something that you might want to try out in your home.

Do these every day, and you will soon notice you have bigger arms and a generally stronger feeling throughout your body. This has many benefits, including more confidence and lower anxiety, so it’s definitely something that you should think about. And all you’ll need to do is around twenty of them every day – or whatever you can manage to do, of course.

Jump Rope

As long as you have the room for this, it’s a really effective workout and quite a fun one too. Boxers engage in skipping as a major part of their workout, because it really is good for the entire body and your cardiovascular exercise and wellbeing in general. So you can be sure that it’s something you could benefit from. Of course, the needs for it are minimal: just, as we said, a little space, and of course the skipping rope. So as long as you have those, you should find that you can do this workout easily enough, and see the results quite fast too.

As you can see, there are so many workouts that you are able to do at home. These are just a few of the best, but if you combine a couple of them you should find that you already have the beginnings of a pretty effective workout home routine. Before you know it, you’ll be a lot fitter and healthier, and you will feel better in yourself. This is the feeling that we are all hoping for, and it is easily achieved without even having to leave your home. So make sure that you are trying out some of these at least in the future.
