Exercising every day is always good for your health. However, people are very busy with work schedules and trying to give family time. Therefore, it isn’t easy to spare time for exercise. Here we are not just talking about exercise for health, but exercise to tone your body. With many options available, we have picked those exercises to tone your body that you can do daily without missing out on for any reason.

Sit-Ups target your abdominal muscles. You need to lay straight on the ground with your knees bent. Put your hands behind your head. Make sure your feet are pressed to the ground. With your hands behind your head, roll up, keeping the core intact. Do not strain your neck. When your chest reaches knee level, go back to the ground, straight on your back, and start again.

It is undoubtedly one of the most common exercises. But all the same, very good for body toning. Keep your core tight. Start in a plank position. You need to keep your neck neutral and shoulders pulled out. You can bend only your elbows and lower your entire body to the floor. When your chest lightly touches the floor, straighten your elbows and return to start. Your elbows must be close to your body during your repeat of this exercise.

Squats is one of the major strength exercises which also burn numerous calories while increasing the inner body strength. This exercise improves the flexibility of the lower back and legs. We need to understand that as we age, we gradually lose the ability to move a joint, and flexibility is being affected. Maintaining a good posture and flexibility is necessary since our daily life is more likely to be involved. So stay motivated, read articles “how can I improve my posture and flexibility”, “how long will it take to increase my flexibility“, and “what are the importance of having a good posture and great flexibility”. Stand with your legs apart with your arms on the side. In proportion, your legs should be wider apart than your shoulder width from one to another. Your chest and chin should be up, and you need to push your hips back. Bend your knees and drop down until your knees are parallel to the ground, just like an imaginary chair. Pull out your arm long parallel to the ground. You need to go up and down in this posture repeatedly.

Lunges strengthen and tone your glutes and legs. Stand shoulder-width apart with your feet. Move one step forward with your right foot and bend the knee, and stop when your thigh is parallel to the ground. Your knee should be ahead of your foot. Push your thigh forward, then return to the starting position. Repeat the same with the left leg. You can complete ten reps of 3 sets.

Side Planks

This exercise focuses on mind-muscle balance and body muscle toning. Lie on the right side with your left leg and foot on top of your right leg and foot. Lift your upper body by gently placing your right forearm on the ground, with your elbow directly under your shoulder. Contract your core to stiffen, lift your hips and knees off the ground straight, forming a straight line with your body. Return to start.

Standing overhead, dumbbell press.

These are compound exercises that utilize multiple joints and muscles. They work on several parts of your body at once. A standing overhead press is not only your shoulders; it also engages your upper back and core. For this, you will need dumbbells. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Move the weights overhead so your upper arms are parallel to the floor. Brace your core and push up until your arms are fully extended above your head. Keep your head and neck stationary. A

After a brief pause, bend your elbows and lower the weight back down until your tricep is parallel to the floor again. Sometimes you are prone to get muscle pulls in the beginning if you are not used to dumbbells. You can start at lesser weights. In case you feel any discomfort in your muscles while you exercise, then you should seek help from physiotherapist such as Darlinghurst Physio
