Many people are hardcore haters when it comes to Monday. In fact, Instagram and Twitter are filled with anti-Monday slogans that can make you hate all-things-Monday even more.
I feel like I’m starting to hate Monday’s even more and more every week haha

But the beginning of the week doesn’t have to be the worst thing ever, it can easily be made into a day you look forward to.
For one, it’s a fresh start. If you’ve had a terrible week or weekend, Monday can be the day where you hit a mental reset button. It’s also the day where you should be the most energized (if you slept in over the weekend, of course).
If you think we’re spewing nonsense here (I mean, “how can anyone like Mondays?”) check out our guide for enjoying the most hated day of the week.
1. Clean over the Weekend
If you wake up on Monday and trip over a pile of shoes on your way to the bathroom, you’ve already started the day badly. To ensure your Monday mornings run smoothly, make sure your house or apartment is clean and organized before you go to bed on Sunday night.
Waking up with everything in its place feels oh-so-good.
2. Lay out Your Clothes the Night Before
There’s nothing more stressful than not being able to find your glasses, dress, or favorite shoes when you’re in a rush. To prevent this common mishap, have Monday’s outfit layed out on Sunday night — just make sure you check the weather so you pick an appropriate outfit.
3. Meal Plan
Any health guru will tell you this is the way to go for a healthier lifestyle. On Sunday, plan out your weekday meals. Make a big pot of steel-cut oatmeal for breakfast, make a big pot of chili for multiple dinners, and know what you’re having for lunch. This will make Monday (and other days) way less stressful.
4. Shorten Your Makeup and Hair Routine
You might be doing unnecessary steps in the a.m. when it comes to your beauty routine. Angela, from The Sunday Chapter, has a great 3-minute makeup tutorial that’ll get you up to speed in no time.
5. Make Exciting Plans
Consider doing something fun every Monday with your besties. Go to a comedy show, find a trivia night at a local bar, or go to a happy hour at a new hip spot. It could even be simple, like grabbing coffee or dessert before heading home from work or school.
If you have something exciting to look forward to, your Monday won’t seem so blah.
6. Got to Bed Early on Sunday
I know it’s tempting to stay up all night watching Netflix (you know, basic Saturday shenanigans), but do yourself a favor and try to be sleeping by 11.
Come Monday morning you will be energized and happy — not sad and sleepy.
